Northeast Equine Veterinary Service is seeking a motivated, reliable technician or assistant to join our ambulatory practice during the busy spring and summer season, with the potential opportunity for continued or full-time employment.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced, and highly variable position working one-on-one with a veterinarian in the field. No two days are the same. This role is challenging, rewarding, and ideal for someone who thrives on flexibility, teamwork, and high standards of patient care.

Experience is not required. We are very willing to train the right individual.
Ambulatory large animal practice
Seasonal position for the spring and summer, with potential for long-term employment
Approximately 1-4 days per week
Highly variable hours — end times are unpredictable due to the nature of the work
No on-call or weekend duty
Daily travel required, with the ability to start mornings in Andover, OH or Cortland, OH
Spring is our busiest season, and applicants must be comfortable with long days, changing schedules, and working efficiently in dynamic environments.
Farm Calls
Assist with patient handling and procedures
Work closely with the veterinarian to maintain efficient flow
Anticipate needs by listening to conversations and preparing equipment
Ensure all equipment is cleaned and packed after each call
Initiate billing, medical records, and charges
Client & Communication Support
Answer phone calls and text messages
Assist with scheduling and daily planning
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
Help keep the day organized and efficient
Office & Vehicle Care
Track and maintain depleted medications and supplies
Light cleaning (vacuuming, dusting, floor mats) during downtime
